Birdwatching Magazine

In the August issue of Birdwatching magazine there is a helpful guide on getting better photographs of birds. There are a number of very helpful tips from expert’s in the field accompanying each image in the article.

I’m pleased to say my wild Barn Owl perched on the entrance to a small barn forms part of the article. The image came from a personal project that spanned 3 months of work watching a family of barn owls rear their young. It was one of the best times I’ve ever had with Barn Owls and the following slideshow covers the amazing moments I was blessed to see during that time.

In 2009 Birdwatching magazine published my very first article as I made my way into the world of professional wildlife photography. The article was written about one of my favourite birds; the Dipper and an area of the Peak District national park I’ve visited to watch these birds since I was 12. Decades later I still visit the same place and take clients that book onto my “Dippers of the Dales” workshops. Dippers have fascinated me for as long as I can remember and its wonderful to be able to take people to see them.

Above is the front cover of the magazine which I stay have that included the article I wrote. Thank you to Matt, the features editor back then who is now the overall editor of the magazine that I still love to contribute too. Never forget who you are and where you started, always stay grounded and real and above all put nature first before any photograph.
